REGULAR METHOD
A bright, clean cup with great clarity. Ideal for light to medium roasts.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- AeroPress
- Paper filter
- Freshly ground coffee (medium-fine)
- Kettle
- Stirrer or spoon
- Scale and timer
- Mug or server
RECIPE
- Dose: 15g
- Water: 240g (93–96°C)
- Brew ratio: 1:16
- Total time: 2:00 minutes
STEPS
- Place a paper filter in the cap and rinse it with hot water.
- Assemble the AeroPress in the regular position over your cup.
- Add 15g of ground coffee.
- Start your timer and pour 240g of hot water in a slow, steady pour.
- Stir gently for 5 seconds.
- Place the plunger on top to create a seal but don’t plunge yet.
- At 1:30, begin pressing down slowly and steadily.
- Finish pressing by 2:00.
- Remove the AeroPress, discard the puck, and enjoy.
INVERTED METHOD
A fuller-bodied cup with more intensity. Great for medium to darker roasts.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Same as above!
RECIPE
- Dose: 17g
- Water: 255g (93–96°C)
- Brew ratio: 1:15
- Total time: 2:30 minutes
STEPS
Assemble the AeroPress inverted (plunger at the base, chamber on top).
Add 17g of coffee into the chamber.
Start your timer and pour 255g of hot water.
Stir gently for 10 seconds.
Place the rinsed filter and cap on top, securing it tightly.
At 2:00, carefully flip the AeroPress onto your cup or server.
Begin pressing slowly and steadily.
Finish pressing by 2:30.
Clean up and enjoy!
