Finca Las Mercedes sits high in Acevedo, Huila, where Heladio Ossa has spent decades building one of the region's most environmentally considered farms.
His coffee took second place in Pitalito's Cup of Excellence in 2011, though Heladio has never chased recognition, it's purely an outcome of the dedication. Cherry pulp gets composted into fertiliser, plastics are sorted for recycling, and corridors of native trees protect the farm's three natural springs, and the birdlife that's returned because of them!
That same care shows up in the brew— jam-like raspberry, a syrupy sweet body, with a chocolate finish. A roastery favourite well into our third year of purchasing.
