MORE ABOUT THE COFFEE

Famous for its high-quality organic coffee, Yirgachefe is known as the birthplace of Ethiopia’s ‘green gold’ (a nickname that reflects the immense value coffee brings to the people here). The fertile soil and ideal climate produce some of the finest beans, making it a key player in the country’s economy. Coffee is at the heart of the town’s culture and business, with many residents involved in its production and processing.

Whilst head roaster Jay was in Ethiopia on an origin trip, he was given the opportunity to visit a brand new farm. After sampling some coffees at COQUA, company owner Moata invited him to check out a brand new farm, owned by Birhan, one of the coffees on the table. It exemplifies the Ethiopian terroir we know and love, so we're pretty stoked to be able to share this brand new farm with you guys. We’re proud to be the first to debut this coffee!
