Duromina is located in southwest Ethiopias Oromia state, in Goma Woreda area of Jimma Zone. Sitting just 25kms outside the town of Agaro the name Duromina means “improve their lives” in the Affan Oromo tongue.
The cooperative services the approx.. 1660 producers of a small area otherwise known as a Kebela called Boto. With over 700ha of land covered in coffee trees and multiple wet mills producing up to 300,000kg of red cherry per season the wet mills are completely natural, with no need for agrochemicals. The mills receive water primarily from a nearby uncontaminated river by gravity. The excess pulp created is mixed with soil to create compost and used as fertilizer.
